2014 Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant

The pageant was started in the early 1960s. For over 40 years, the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant has been one of the most anticipated events in the Los Angeles community. Every year an attendance of more then 900 are expected to come and share in this black tie gala event. There are approximately 20 young ladies who are chosen as finalists to compete for the title of Miss Los Angeles Chinatown. They spend 10 weeks in preparation for this big event where they learn techniques on public speaking and presentation as well as the history and current affairs surrounding the Chinese American community.

Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant is a contest to select intelligent individuals from the Greater Los Angeles area as Chinatown's ambassadors to serve and represent the Chinese community. The program is sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles. Miss Chinatown and her court attend many events during the year, including the annual Golden Dragon New Year Parade and the Firecracker 5K/10K Run.

Over the years, participants in Miss Chinatown Pageant all expressed their appreciation on the valuable life experience they gained during training and rehearsals. Participation in community services and events after the Pageant night also helped a lot in their personal growth, their maturity, and their business development in future years.
